In the exhibit Instruments for Free Space, artist Xiaojing Yan combines two very distinct installation works in sound and sculpture respectively. While both works are created with the use of common objects their ultimate function is an architectural undertaking of sorts, making the instruments in the exhibition a tool for activating space in unorthodox ways.
