Reflective Nature

Reflective Natures and Transparent Landscapes is an exhibitition of glass and ceramic sculptures and installations that poetically reinterpret our traditional views of nature at a time when human impact on the natural world has never been greater, and our relationships with an ever-changing landscape, never more fluid.

The SHOW 11

It highlights the talent and innovation of upcoming art producers, many of whom are recent graduates of visual arts programs throughout the province.

Geo Disposable

In his exhibit DISPOSABLE GEOMETRY, artist Patrick Cull presents new drawings produced by machines.  Automated by the artist, yet removed from the traditional sense of mark making these works can be seen as taking away the preciousness of what is normally associated with artworks and emphasizing the possibilities embedded in accidents, tests, and automated gestures.

Instrumental Spoons

In the exhibit Instruments for Free Space, artist Xiaojing Yan combines two very distinct installation works in sound and sculpture respectively.  While both works are created with the use of common objects their ultimate function is an architectural undertaking of sorts, making the instruments in the exhibition a tool for activating space in unorthodox ways.

In her exhibit SWOUNDS, artist Julie Oakes addresses spiritual narratives and the fragility, authenticity, and poignancy of life in her seven-part installation in glass, clay, and aluminum.

Not Afraid ....

As a part of the Open Ears Festival, KW|AG will present Vancouver-based artist Althea Thauberger's not afraid to die. This early video piece introduces the tense relationship between sincerity and performance that underlies the tension and themes of social seclusion in her work.
